We Love Lafayette

The Lafayette Community Foundation (LCF) invests in programs and projects that promote and enhance the civic, cultural, educational, and environmental health of Lafayette.
About Us

In 1998, a group of Lafayette citizens began to work on an effort to build a new community library. They called themselves Lafayette Library Vision 2000. In addition to determining a need for a new library, the group realized that Lafayette would greatly benefit from a broad-based community organization that was committed to hometown philanthropy. Since September 1999, the LCF has supported programs and projects that make Lafayette a better place to live, for people of all ages.

We are extremely proud of our most recent community projects: the acclaimed Lafayette Library and Learning Center and the permanent stage at the Lafayette Reservoir. These projects are the result of our premiere partnerships within the community. We partnered with the City of Lafayette, the Friends of the Lafayette Library, and others to complete the library and we worked with the Lafayette Rotary Club to build the new stage. We are currently working with the Lafayette Senior Commission and other groups as part of a task force to identify a location for a Senior/Community Center in downtown Lafayette.

We participate in a number of fun events! Each year we support the Taste of Lafayette by sponsoring the restaurant raffle. This highly sought prize enables the winner to enjoy an entire year of dining in Lafayette’s finest restaurants. You’ll also find us at the Taste of Lafayette, where we share information about our organization and offer our Love Lafayette t-shirts. In November 2013, we’re started the Lafayette Garage Tour. We look forward to this year’s Garage Tour on October 16th, 2016. If you’re tired of your cluttered old garage and want inspiration, this is the tour for you! We continue to provide bi-annual mini-grants to many local community partners – please learn more here.
